You’ll find many people talk about the New World Order from various points of view. It can be difficult to know whether there is any truth to it. Will there really be a time when one world government will control the whole world? Many science fiction movies and television shows have certainly portrayed just such an idea. From a totally secular, human perspective a one world government would seem to be a good idea. It could lead to peace on earth. Better shared resources. Greater efficiencies and less red tape. Unfortunately though it could also lead to some serious problems. Minority rights would most likely be threatened. The needs of the majority would almost surely supersede the needs of the minorities. A handful or rich and powerful people would control the destiny of billions of people. This is a scenario ripe for abuse.
What does the Bible say about the New World Order?
In the book of Daniel God has revealed to us all of the major world powers that would exist to the end of time. This is outlined in Daniel 2, 7 and 8. The last world kingdom is represented in the Daniel 2 vision as being the legs of iron and the feet of iron and clay. A major characteristic of this last kingdom is found in Daniel:
“And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle. As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.” – Daniel 2:42-43
While the Bible does point out in this prophecy that man will try to unite themselves in a world government, they will ultimately fail. The fact that men are trying to do it today though is proof that we are living at the very end of time. We don’t have all kinds of time left. The last day events will be rapid ones.
“But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short” – Revelation 12:12
It can sometimes be scary to think that difficult times are coming. It is easier to simply put it out of our minds but we have to realize that just because we want to wish it away doesn’t mean that it will go away. If we want to be sure that we aren’t deceived at the end we need to know the truth now! That’s why we’ve put together this website and the content on this website.
